I found this NPR article posted today about how the tradition of dropping a ball on New Year’s Eve got started. New Yorkers have celebrated New Year’s in Times Square — the bustling intersection of Seventh Avenue, 42nd Street, and Broadway in Midtown Manhattan — since it got its name in 1904.
It’s an interesting read about how the tradition changed throughout the years and that it got started because of a ban on fireworks.

What an awful way to spend Christmas. Two men died while searching for Bigfoot. Their cause of death appears to be because of "exposure, based on weather conditions and ill-preparedness," the sheriff's office said.
I can’t think of many ways that would be worse than this to go out. Hate it for the families at this time of year as well. Link

It has been a good year for discontinued Apple devices. Having so many lightning devices on this list is a great step forward. I still have an iPhone 15 Pro Max and do not have any plans to move to the 16. I am kinda jealous of the camera button because I think I would take more pictures if it was so easy to open the camera. I use my action button as a flashlight, so I could use a button for the camera or even better would be for ever button to be like the new camera button and be fully customizable.
