Apple's App Store Fees Under Fire as Musk Takes Aim at 'Exorbitant' Commissions
Elon Musk has said he will talk to Apple CEO Tim Cook about adjusting the 30 percent commission that Apple takes on in-app purchases.
Musk, who recently acquired Twitter, is concerned about the high fees that Apple charges for creators who sell subscriptions through the platform. He wants Apple to only take a 30 percent commission on the portion of the payout kept by Twitter. Musk has previously criticized Apple's App Store fees, calling them "monopoly rents."
It is unclear whether Cook will be willing to negotiate with Musk on this issue and I would be surprised if Cook bends on this.
