All my kids were introduced to peanut butter slowly after they were at least one year old. Back then, that was the guideline. You don’t give your kids peanuts because they might be allergic to them. Once they were in elementary school all four loved eating peanut butter sandwiches and never had any adverse effects from eating so much peanut butter. In this NY Times article, studies have shown a drop in peanut butter allergies due to new guidance stating to introduce peanuts and other foods early to build up tolerance.

This was an interesting read that I have seen in myself and my kids. We are living in a world with the best healthcare, food, training, intelligence, etc. but what is it doing to us? We live in a world that our grandparents couldn't fathom the things we do in the first thirty minutes of waking up and yet we go about our day complaining.
Relatively speaking, these are nice problems to have.

New site over at neal.fun by Neal Agarwal, the creator behind many playful internet experiments.
So what's it about? Instead of the usual frustrating CAPTCHA checks you see online, this is a game where the challenge itself is the fun. You'll solve quirky, puzzle-like captchas that feel more like a brain teaser than a security test.
It's not a real CAPTCHA to prove you are not a robot but gives off impossible quiz vibes from back in my day.

I just watched You Need to Be Bored by Harvard Business Review and it has sparked some thoughts!
When my kids tell me that they are bored, I typically respond with a Great! or that's not a bad thing, congratulations. I tell them that I was bored once and look how I turned out! Recently, my son told me he was bored so I told him to get his shoes on and we went for a walk around the neighborhood.

Introduction We all experience memory lapses, from misplacing keys to walking into a room and forgetting why we’re there. It can feel frustrating, even alarming. But according to neuroscientist Charan Ranganath, forgetting is the brain’s default behavior and it's entirely normal. The human brain doesn’t have boundless storage, so forgetting helps prioritize what's truly meaningful.
1. Forgetting Is Not a Bug - It’s a Feature ,Our brains constantly encounter a flood of information.

If they eventually get these things to sort and do laundry then I might be interested. I quit using mine because my kids kept leaving paper towels and tissues in the floor, so this would actually be really helpful!
The arm rises from the middle of Roborock’s latest flagship bot — the Saros Z70 — and can extend out to pick up items such as socks and tissues while cleaning your floors.

One of my favorite podcasts is The NYTimes The Daily podcast. I have been a subscriber since it debuted in 2017 and have missed only a few episodes. Today, Axios announced The Daily is putting its archive behind a paywall. Beginning next month, The New York Times will make its audio subscription available for purchase through Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
I subscribe for free through Pocket Casts, my preferred podcast player, and listen to the entire podcast with ads.

I wear an Apple Watch when I leave my house. I rarely wear one around my house unless I am working out. This means that some days, I do not wear the watch because I do not leave my house. I find that wearing a watch is like wearing khaki pants. I am fine to wear it while I am out, but it instantly gets on my nerves the moment I step foot into the comfort of my home.

I had never put on any type of virtual reality headset other than Google Cardboard when it first came out, and I still was an Android user. That experience was a neat one-off where I looked around in a fake outer space scene and honestly do not remember much else. I let my kids play around, and they were bored with it along with me within five minutes.
I’m sure Apple’s Vision Pro headset will be a nicer experience than a cardboard box, rubber bands, and magnets that constituted the Google Cardboard.

[www.youtube.com/watch](https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop)&v=4iQmPv_dTI0 I found this NPR Tiny Desk Concert of Fred Again.. from Jarrod Blundy’s HeyDingus blog post of 7 Things This Week and I am so impressed with how creative people can be.
It reminds me of Ed Sheeran’s solo performance of I Don't Care (Live At Abbey Road).
I could watch people create songs by looping themselves for hours, so if you know of any more, please let me know!

Rosalynn Carter, who as first lady worked tirelessly on behalf of mental health reform and professionalized the role of the president’s spouse, died Sunday at the age of 96.
Married for 77 years. If my wife and I were to do that, we would be married until 2086 and I would be 96 years old.
I could only be so lucky to live such an inspiring life.

Source: NASA Voyager 2, the second of NASA's Voyager probes, has re-established contact with Earth after a brief communications outage. The spacecraft, which is now 19.9 billion kilometers away from Earth, experienced a problem with its attitude control system on July 29. This caused the probe to reorient itself in a way that prevented it from sending or receiving signals.
NASA engineers were able to send a "shout" command to Voyager 2 to reorient itself, and the spacecraft responded by sending a signal back to Earth on August 3.

Elon Musk has said he will talk to Apple CEO Tim Cook about adjusting the 30 percent commission that Apple takes on in-app purchases. Musk, who recently acquired Twitter, is concerned about the high fees that Apple charges for creators who sell subscriptions through the platform. He wants Apple to only take a 30 percent commission on the portion of the payout kept by Twitter. Musk has previously criticized Apple's App Store fees, calling them "

I along with many others have a Google alert setup to notify myself when my name turns up on the web. It is a handy feature that can oftentimes turn up interesting information. I discovered a local race car driver with my same name although he may not be the Ross Chastain that used the wall-ride maneuver to gain positions, it is still intriguing to follow someone just because we share the same name.

There are so many ways to open and enjoy Apple Playlists, but I just created my favorite way to view and access my Apple-curated mixes, my favorite playlists, and the best radio stations as well as getting notified of when new music is added. When I moved over to Apple products, one of the first things I did was create an Apple Note with links to playlists and radio stations. I thought it was amazing that I could easily link into an app.

Gizmodo broke the news that Apple is allegedly harvesting iPhone user data when privacy settings are set not to track. There is currently a class action lawsuit in California against Apple.
The issue was discovered by Mysk, cyber security researchers, who found that the App Store sends Apple identifying information such as device ID numbers and how you are connected to the internet. This information when put together can determine who the user is.

Today, Notion has announced Notion AI.
Notion claims the power of AI directly into your Notion workspace. If you want to write a blog post, all you have to do is type in a prompt within Notion.
To me, this introduces all that is wrong with AI. I do not want to read a bunch of articles written by computers. This to me is a lazy approach to writing articles for a quick buck.

If you have an iPhone 14, you now have the ability to use satellites to message emergency services outside of cell coverage.
The feature was introduced at WWDC and hopefully won’t need to be used but is great to know it is there if needed.
From Apple Newsroom:
Every model in the iPhone 14 lineup — iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max — can connect directly to a satellite through a combination of custom-designed components and deeply integrated software.

Facades by Michael Steeber is a retail store field guide that takes an interesting approach to what an app can do in 2022.
The app started off as an Apple Note on Michael’s Mac as a central location of information about Apple Retail stores. As we have all created notes that get bloated with way too much information, it seems that Michael’s note did the same. So what do you do with all the store features, design styles, and locations?

Stephen Hacket at 512px wrote about Apple’s now-defunct Dashboard for Mac. His post inspired me to complain about the Mac desktop and how it could be improved.
I never owned a Mac during the time of the Mac Dashboard but I have been very frustrated with the lack of widgets on the desktop. I use two monitors connected to my MacBook and would love to have some iOS widgets available on the laptop’s desktop.

iPhone with OhSnap Grip My Love for OhSnap! I started my iPhone journey with an OhSnap Grip that I brought over from my Pixel 4. I absolutely love the grip. It gives the convenience of a Pop-Socket without the bulk. I cannot remember where I heard about the OhSnap! Kickstarter, but I was sold as soon as I saw it. I had been a PopSocket user, but hated the constant bulk.
